NHS

We are told that the NHS does not have money to waste so why would we spend more than we need locating the specialist emergency care hospital at Sutton rather than at Epsom or St Helier?

As part of the options development process, a financial appraisal was carried out on all three options. Although the option of locating the new specialist emergency care hospital at Sutton Hospital (the preferred option) has a projected capital cost of £511 million compared to £466 million if it was built at Epsom and £430 million if built at St Helier, in the overall economic analysis of the options, which combines the results of the financial and non-financial appraisal, it is estimated that Sutton would offer the best value for money over the long-term.
